The president of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation (FVF), Anna Ferrer, received on Saturday the Hamsa Award in the category of Social Service. The award, given each year the state government of South India on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year is the highest honor a personality and highlights its contribution to the prosperity of the territory.
The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, presented the award to Anna Ferrer, "for outstanding work on behalf of Andhra Pradesh" in a ceremony held at Vijayawada, future capital of the state after separation of Telangana last year. The event recognized the work of 31 other personalities more in different disciplines such as science, literature, painting, dance, music, among others.
"We are happy to have received this recognition from the state, because we feel that we have contributed in real and constant development and progress of Anantapur and the surrounding villages manner," said Anna Ferrer.
